Artificial Intelligence (AI) is all the rage in this day and age, and it is now the talk of the town in the media. The first one related to AI coming up to mind is an app that I use to learn English on my iPhone, and it is called ELSA Speak.
What it is used for
Basically, it is designed to run on a smartphone and is compatible with both Android and iOS operating systems.
This app, as I just mentioned, is used for learning English, especially pronunciation and speaking skill.
It is not a free app, but I have to say that it is so reasonably priced compared to its great value. I remember that I paid about just 100 dollars for the full lifetime membership.
How it is used
After downloading and installing it on your phone, you will need to take a placement test. Then ELSA Speak will suggest a suitable curriculum for you based on your current level. Amazing, right?
This app uses Artificial Intelligence and the latest technology of voice recognition to identify your pronunciation and speaking skill, then give you scores and recommend what you should improve.

I’m kind of a technology geek and always try to take advantage of technology to improve productivity and efficiency in work and learning. This app blew me away when I first tried it because I could never think that this app was so powerful. It identified accurately the areas of pronunciation that I need to focus and practice more. Besides, it has a massive database of lessons so that any learner of any level can easily find things that suit their needs.
Another special fact about this app is that it was written and has been developed by a Vietnamese woman. And it is now popular in many countries with more than 2 million users. I think this fact is something that will encourage the young generation, especially in Vietnam, to do what they can to make their dreams come true.
