Honestly, I've been up to my ears in work recently, so I don't have so much spare time to unwind. If memory serves me correctly, the most recent day off that I can remember is a Sunday about several weeks ago.
I have to say that I am kind of an introvert, and I'm not big on things like socializing, noisy knee-ups and crowded places. On top of that, I was quite exhausted after a week of working night and day, so I decided that I would spend the day at home.
Actually, I am an early bird, but that day I slept in until 8 o'clock in the morning. Then I went to a Yoga centre that's within walking distance of my house, and I practised Yoga in about an hour. You know, I'm a big fan of Yoga and personally, I think it's the best way for me to stay in shape and release the stress I get from work.
At noon, I went to a small, cosy vegan restaurant with my wife because both of us weren't in the mood for cooking and washing dishes. In fact, we had a great time there because the food was outstanding and the service was second to none.
In the afternoon, I read my favourite book while lying on the couch with some snacks and light music playing in the background. It was a perfect way to end the day.
Although I had only one day, I think the way I spent it is a wise choice. It helped me get away from the hustle and bustle and regain my vitality so that I would come back to work the next day full of energy and freshness. I also realize that a day-off like this is so precious that I should enjoy every moment of it. I hope that in the future I can arrange my work schedule so that I will have a better work/life balance. In the end, we work to live, not live to work. Right?
